Solenoid operated 4/3 valves 4WEW are smooth switching, direct acting plate-mounted spool valves. In the flow channel which connects the spring chambers is a built-in nozzle which creates a retarded actuation of the spool piston.
The switch-over of hydraulic cylinders and motors could be damped or slowered herewith. Optimal results are achieved by symetrical flows from both sides and if all ports are in use. The flow channel hast to be vented and should be filled with oil completely  (1-2 bar back pressure at T is recommended). Depending on the symbol there are flows up to 100 l/min possible.
